We’re back & news update – X-Men, The Wolverine, Ghost Rider 2, Captain America, Thor and more…

Apologies for the lack of updates in the last week or so, but we’re now back online, and rather than give you a flood of articles, we thought it best to round up all the interesting stuff into a single update.

X-Men: First Class
First up, Comic Book Moview reported a possible piece of promo art for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, that appears to be a character teaser poster showing Jason Flemyng as Azazel. What do you reckon?

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
They don’t have much other info, but Comicus.it have posted a few photos from Corvinilor Castle, one of the Romanian locations for the Ghost Rider sequel.

The Wolverine
20th Centiry Fox have out out a press confirming both the new title of the film as well as Darren Aronofsky’s involvement as a part of a new two year deal between the studio and the director, building on thei existing relationship via the Fox Searchlight releases The Wrestler and Black Swan.

Emma Watts, president of production at Twentieth Century Fox said, “We’re excited Darren is going to bring his unique vision to ‘The Wolverine’ and we take great satisfaction that Fox, irrespective of the size of his films, continues to provide a home for his extraordinary talent.

Next up, SuperHeroHype scored a great exclusive chat with Darren Aronofsky, the unlikely but most welcome director of the sequel/not sequel to the first X-Men Origins film.

He gives a few clues about the story line, confirming that it will take the character to Japan: “There’s all the samurai elements that are really exciting … I’m a big fan of Japanese movies, we’re going to try to have a good time”, as well as a few other areas. It’s definately worth a read.

Thor
Trading card company Upper Deck have released some images and details of their Thor tie-in cards, which are due to be released (in the US, at least) on March 15th 2011. Some pics are below, and you can get full details here. Of interest here is yet another use of the sub-title ‘The Mighty Avenger’, a la Captain America’s ‘The First Avenger’. Still no word yet on whether the film will also carry this full title…

Captain America
Finally, Marvel have confirmed Captain America’s international release schedule, which you can check out here.
