With just a few days to go before the Manchester leg of filming, the crew of Captain America is busy preparing the streets of the city’s Northern Quarter. The production will be taking advantage of the streets’ American style architecture, will be retrofitting the buildings to transform the viewers back to 1940s New York.
As promised, our spy in the area went for a wander round and saw signs of activity ramping up. Amongst the goings on were plenty of high-viz-jacketed security guards – on every corner apparently – a small group of what appeared to be location crew complete with notes and clip boards walking round the area, crew equipment trucks and vans, and a couple of large marquees, presumably where the 40s-era shop fronts and street furniture are being assembled.
He managed to snap a few pics, which you can check out below. Click on the photos to see full size.

Rest assured we’ll be keeping a beady eye on proceedings, and we’ll try to bring you more photos as the work continues and when filming begins.
