Bleeding Cool reports receiving several independant reports that British actor Jamie Bell is Sony’s choice to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot.
Bell is still best known as Billy Elliot, but has also starred in Peter Jackson’s King Kong, and the in-production Jackson/Stephen Spielberg collaboration Tintin, so is more than capable of handling the demands of heavy SFX work.
With pre-production well underway, we are sure to get official word on the casting soon.
