Given the not so subtle clues laid down in Iron Man 2, it’s a given that Tony Stark’s dad Howard will be playing a pretty major role in the WWII set Captain America movie.
There has been no official word on the casting of the role, but during an interview last week in Cannes, Salon.com have quoted Brit actor Dominic Cooper as confirming that he is up for the role.
This is one but of news that came out of the blue, but as it’s apparently come directly from the actor involved it does perhaps carry a little more weight than many rumours.
With filming due to start in just a few weeks, we’ll hopefully find out for sure very soon.
Captain America: The First Avenger is directed by Joe Johnston, and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Sebastian Stan as sidekick Bucky Barnes, Hugo Weaving as villain The Red Skull, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter.
